●  Make Detailed To-Do Lists:  Part of what makes moving so time consuming are all of the seemingly minute details that go into the process. When you’re in a rush, it can be far too easy to forget the small - or even major - things you need to do. To help you stay organized and on-task, create thorough to-do lists that include not only the task but also who is responsible for completing it and when it needs to be done. For optimal organization, keep this list on a device that you keep with you at all times, such as a phone or tablet, so it’s easy to add or remove things as needed.
●  Create Packing Lists:  Making another list may seem high maintenance, but when you are moving on a severely limited timeline, it’s absolutely critical to be organized. As you pack, take inventory of all of your items by listing and numbering them and the boxes you put them in. This way, it will be easier to unpack - and to notice immediately if an item or an entire box goes missing.
●  Enlist Friends and Family:  You don’t have to go through this process solo: it’s always best to recruit friends or family members to help. Have your kids pack their room by turning the task into a game or pick some lucky (and strong) friends to help with the heavy lifting on moving day.
